Perforated Pierced Necklace

This necklace makes a statement. It is hand fabricated from pierced sterling silver and perforated nickel silver. The bottom element is pierced and hollow - hand cut with a jewelers saw and then soldered together together to appear solid. The perforation is created with a jewelers torch. The metal is heated in such a way that it starts to absorb oxygen and then randomly pops to created pocks or craters in the piece. This give the piece a very unusual and dramatic look.
