My Work

Cut, Formed, Fabricated From Precious Metals Using Ancient & Modern Torch Techniques

Hand fabricated, my work often highlights organic textures created with a torch. By controlling the torch, metal is heated in such a way that it becomes pocked and crater-like in the Perforation process. In Reticulation, heat produces ridged or rippled effects in the metal. Textural forms come together when metal is joined into a union without solder in the Fusing and Keum Boo processes. Pieces are often designed with colored gemstones and can be accentuated with hand woven neckcords, a Japanese technique called Kumihimo.
